The Department of Counseling offers an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and an M.A. in School Counseling and Guidance. A Certificate in Cultural Diversity and Human Services is also offered. All of the programs have a unique emphasis on working with deaf and hard of hearing individuals. The School Counseling and Guidance program prepares counselors for placement in educational settings serving deaf and hard of hearing children and deaf children with additional special needs. The Mental Health counseling program prepares counselors for placement in mental health agencies, facilities, and programs serving deaf people. Both programs offer a range of supervised internship experiences.
